Signature Research, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Developer to join their team in Calumet, Michigan. If you enjoy working on exciting projects, developing new and unique technologies and solving highly technical problems, we want to hear from you!

 

The Senior Software Developer will support Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs in the evaluation of signature management technologies, virtual and dynamic scene generation, analytical software development, aided and automated target recognition, and a wide range of machine learning applications.

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS.  Starting wage of $85,000 – $120,000 annually, based on your knowledge and experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package and flexible work schedule.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER.

  • Development of software and analytical tools to support a variety of Modeling and Simulation activities.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle including gathering requirements, design, implementation, testing, configuration control, deployment and maintenance.
  • Support signature analyses, write reports, and develop briefings on a variety of efforts; provide briefings to customers on completed work.
  • Support internal corporate software practices and vision roadmaps (e.g. help to determine appropriate software languages and tool sets).
  • Provide mentorship to new hire and junior level software developers.
  • Promote good development practices alongside other developers.

 

What you need to be successful as our Senior Software Developer.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field, required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8 years’ experience in modeling & simulation product design/development or a related field, highly desired.
  • Physics-based scene generation experience, highly desired.
  • Ray tracing experience is a plus, however, a good understanding of Linear Algebra or Graphics Programming is highly desired.
  • Machine learning/artificial intelligence development experience, highly desired.
  • Skills in scientific programming languages: C/C++, Python and Julia, highly desired.
  • Parallel programming experience, highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific and technical computing paradigms and experience with modeling and simulation of mathematics/physics, highly desired.
  • Experience with open-source software and Linux, highly desired.
  • Experience with Git for code management, highly desired.
  • Experience supporting Agile/SCRUM project teams, desired.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and in-person).
  • Great attention to detail, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high security office setting; initially no telecommuting.
  • Ability to apply and qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States (less than 20%).

Line Electrician

UPPCO seeks a Line Electrician in Munising, Michigan. In this role, you construct, operate, maintain and dismantle components of all voltages of distribution and transmission lines.

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS.  $41.09 per hour in addition to a comprehensive benefit package in exchange for your knowledge and experience.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

  • Completion of a 4-year accredited or certified line electrician apprentice program and/or attained Journeyman line electrician status.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsements within 4 months of hire.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all phases of electric distribution and transmission work procedures and safety rules, electric distribution standards, applicable state electric codes and statutes, and underground facilities and their purpose.
  • Willingness to be on-call, work long hours and overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to work outside with exposure to all types of weather conditions.
  • Position involves heavy, physical work with frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high areas above ground level and with high voltage equipment.
  • Excellent time management, organization and communication skills.
  • A positive, motivated attitude that works well with little direct supervision.
  • Willingness to travel, as required.

They design, implement, test and maintain functional code making up software across the company’s portfolio of products. Daily tasks include requirements discovery, code design and programming, unit test design and programming, demonstration to customers and stakeholders, and collaboration in small development squads.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER.

  • 1+ years’ experience designing, implementing, debugging and testing computer code (C++ preferred).
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving & complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl (C++ preferred).
  • Debugging techniques in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Practical use of software configuration management techniques and tools (Subversion preferred).
  • Practical use of unit test frameworks (googletest preferred).
  • Practical use of code quality tools (static code analysis, memory checking, profiling).
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills; ability to self-prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to self-manage/adapt in a fast paced, high demand environment w/changing priorities & direction.
  • Effectively communicate technically complex information verbally, orally and graphically.
  • Effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical staff members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF THE SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER.

  • Practical use of: GUI toolkits (Qt preferred) and design patterns.
  • Demonstrated use of: formal test design methods and continuous integration systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience using agile software development methods (Scrum and Kanban preferred).
  • 3+ years building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • 3+ years direct experience in one or more of these technical areas: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer/Thermal Analysis, Electro-Optic Sensor Modeling, Numerical Methods, High-performance Computing, Scientific Visualization.

Registered Nurses ~ paying sign-on bonus or loan repayment option

The Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) seeks cheerful and energetic full-time and part-time Registered Nurses to join their dynamic team in Crystal Falls, Michigan.  All levels of experience are being considered.

 

To succeed, you must possess an ability to lead, a willingness to collaborate with other staff, and be in good mental and physical condition to organize, plan and direct nursing care in our well-established facility.  The ideal candidate is patient, tactful, and enthusiastic in the handling of residents and their care.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE REGISTERED NURSE. 

  • Provide professional and quality nursing care to residents.
  • Assist supervisors in care and management of the unit.
  • Admit, discharge and transfer residents.
  • Checks rooms routinely to ensure residents are being provided the care required and/or requested.
  • Make observations and recommendations; chart pertinent patient information.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment.
  • Carry out instructions of supervisors & doctors (transcribe physician orders, order medication, perform tests/diagnostic work, take vital signs, start IVs, etc.).
  • Assign duties to other nursing staff.
  • Answer questions from residents, family members, visitors and nursing service staff.
  • Maintain unit and use of supplies/equipment.
  • Participate in in-service and orientation programs, as needed.

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. Starting wage of $25.56 per hour with years of experience increase at 6 months plus the option of either 100% loan repayment ($2,500 paid directly to your loan debt every 6 months until paid off) or receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time and part-time RNs. In addition, the ICMCF offers a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous retirement plan, paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick time, life insurance, uniform allowance, shift differentials, and pay incentives for perfect attendance and picking up additional shifts. Hours worked in excess of 8 consecutive hours are paid at time and one-half.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS OUR REGISTERED NURSE.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Previous experience in hospital, skilled nursing or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust and competence amongst peers and patients.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to physically and mentally carry out the functions of this position.
