Sean Bahr grew up and raised a daughter in International Falls, Minnesota. After she had grown and graduated, Bahr was hungry for new adventures. He was contacted by Marketing Department, Inc. in Houghton and decided to take the leap for the Upper Peninsula.
“I love the job and the area,” said Bahr. “I especially enjoy the summers and live music on the weekends.”
Shortly after he arrived in Houghton, Bahr started texting a high school classmate, Tracy Podpeskar, who was looking for the same type of lifestyle. She decided to move here, too. They fell in love with the Upper Peninsula and each other. Within the first year in the area, the couple bought a house together and share new adventures daily.
Tracy and Sean regularly take weekend trips to various points in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan, using the U.P.’s central location as a landing pad to hang-glide, canoe, kayak, hike, and sightsee at some of the most popular outdoor destinations in the Midwest.
“Tracy and I are having the times of our lives, living and working in this beautiful adventureland,” said Bahr. “I love my flexible schedule and my creative coworkers. It’s an incredible place to live with something new to discover every day, especially if you have an affinity for the outdoors like we do.”
